Apple Requirements Overview & FAQs

About Apple's new requirements for ALL apps and FAQs

Due to recent changes in Apple's app release guidelines, there are new app requirements for both Ennoview and your business. Moving forward, any app must come from an independently-owned Apple Developer account, meaning Ennoview can no longer publish to the App Store on your behalf.

These are universal rules issued directly by Apple that apply to all businesses and developers who wish to operate on the App Store. You can read Apple’s full list of terms here: https://developer.apple.com/support/enrollment/.

Here's what this means for your business:

  • Ennoview can no longer publish your MyDash app through our Apple Developer account.
  • Your business must register for an Apple Developer account to continue using the iOS version of the MyDash app.
  • Once approved by Apple, you must grant Ennoview permission to publish the app on your behalf.

Please note that these changes apply only to the iOS version of your MyDash app. Ennoview will continue to publish the Android version and no action is required on your part.

We understand how these extra steps can impact your plans and our team is here to assist you throughout this process. Working together, we hope to minimize the impact to your business and ultimately deliver an app that makes life easier for both you and your clients.

The changes made by Apple affect EVERY app developer and not just Ennoview. To guide you through this process, we have created this easy-to-follow list. It is possible that your business already meets several of these requirements already. We recommend going step-by-step in order, marking each one completed as they are finished.

You'll only need to do these steps once. After every requirement is met and you've successfully added Ennoview to your Developer account, we'll take over the responsibility of launching, updating, and maintaining your MyDash app.

FAQs

Why do I need to enroll as an Apple developer to have a MyDash customer booking app?

To comply with Apple's revised app guidelines, Ennoview can no longer directly publish to the App Store using our developer account. Instead, you'll need to create and maintain your own account with Apple, and then invite Ennoview as an admin user, which grants us permission to publish the app on your behalf.

You can read Apple’s full list of terms here: https://developer.apple.com/support/enrollment/.

Why do I have to register as a legal entity?

This is an Apple requirement. To enroll in the Developer Program and launch an app, your business must register with Dun & Bradstreet as a corporation, LLC, or other type of legal entity. You'll then need to mark yourself as a Company/Organization when registering with Apple.

Apple does not permit sole proprietors/single-users, sole traders, DBAs, fictitious business names, trade names, or branch names to register with their program.

Do I still have to complete these requirements if I find a different app developer?

Yes, these are universal rules were issued directly by Apple and apply to all businesses or developers who wish to operate on the App Store.

I have multiple locations. Do I need a developer account for each one?

You'll need a single developer account whether you're a single business, multi-location business, or a franchise. Each location can be added to the same app.

How long does it take to get a DUNS number?

If you have registered as a legal entity in the past, then it's possible a D-U-N-S number has already been assigned to you. The number is free to acquire and takes mere minutes to look up through the Dun & Bradstreet website.

If you couldn't find your D-U-N-S number, and you've completed all the prior steps in this article, then you'll need to register your business with Dun & Bradstreet. Click here to visit the D-U-N-S registration website and get started.

  • After requesting a number, it may take up to five days to receive it from Dun & Bradstreet.
    • Note: If you've waited five days, and haven't received a reply, please contact Dun & Bradstreet at (800) 234-3867 to check on the status of your request.
  • Once your number has been received, it may take an additional two days for Apple to receive your registration information.

Given this timeline, we recommend allotting at least one week between requesting a D-U-N-S number and registering with Apple. Because we are relying on both Dun & Bradstreet and Apple to complete this process in a prompt manner, Ennoview will be unable to assist you during this time.

Do I have to create a new Apple ID?

Not necessarily, but we recommend using one tied to your business rather than personal account. Here's the link to create a new one.

I see that I’m required to have a business website. What if I don’t have one?

If you don't have a business website of your own, you may simply need to register a domain name. Once you have a domain name, we can help you link it to your included online booking page. You can send your business information and domain to dev@ennoview.com .

Why do I need two-factor authentication?

Apple requires that all developers use two-factor authentication to verify ownership of their Developer account. You will need a qualifying Apple device to complete this step—click here to learn more about the necessary tips.

Who can I contact for help?
